Jamie, a 16-year-old kid who wants to be a drag queen when he grows up, is the protagonist of the story. However, he will encounter challenges in achieving his goals. He faces opposition from his distant father Wayne, his instructor Ms. Hedge, and a slew of others at school. Margaret, his mother, and Pritti, one of his closest friends, are his sole supports.
Hugo, a retired drag queen known as Miss Loco Chanelle, grooms him and teaches him. Jamie, however, is up against his estranged father Wayne, his mediocre careers teacher Miss Hedge, and other students at school, notably bully Dean Paxton.
