The Flash trailer has almost everything you could want in a superhero movie. It’s got the love interest, an action-packed story full of twists and turns, and nods to DC comic lore; but one thing is missing: Batman! That might be because Michael Keaton doesn’t seem like he will be playing the Caped Crusader after all.
The Batman actor tweeted that he’s “learning to crawl” and call Gotham his home. The actor will be playing an older Bruce Wayne who has been retired from the cape and cowl for years, with a new Robin in tow.
The “dc fandome 2021” is a trailer for the upcoming DC film, Batman. The trailer teases Michael Keaton’s Batman and it gives a glimpse of what to expect from the film.
The Flash movie trailer has been published by Warner Bros. and DC. Despite the fact that Ezra Miller was cast as Barry Allen in the DC Extended Universe in 2014 and made his debut in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016, the actor’s standalone film has been delayed several times. Throughout its production, The Flash went through many writers and directors before settling on Andy Muschietti, the director of IT, and Christina Hodson, the screenwriter of Birds of Prey. Since then, things have progressed rapidly and taken some unexpected twists, including news that Michael Keaton would reprise his role as Batman from Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman film and its sequel.
In addition to Keaton, Ben Affleck will reprise his DCEU role as Batman in The Flash, while Sasha Calle will make her debut as Supergirl. Kiersey Clemons will reprise her role as Iris West from Zack Snyder’s Justice League, while Ron Livingston will replace Billy Crudup as Barry’s father Henry, and Maribel Verd will portray Barry’s mother Nora. The Flash movie has a lot to look forward to, not least its multiverse-exploring tale and the return of Keaton as Batman more than 30 years after he first donned the Batsuit. Now, fresh footage from the DC flick has surfaced in a new video.
The Flash movie trailer was presented at DC FanDome 2021; see it in the video below. Though Miller clearly claims that the teaser trailer is neither a teaser nor a trailer, it does include enough material from the next DC picture to offer a fair first look. The Flash movie trailer teases the Flashpoint plot by showing Miller’s Barry Allen visiting his mother in the past, and it introduces the multiverse storyline by presenting a second version of Barry Allen – both portrayed by Miller. In addition, a sight of Keaton’s cowl in the Batcave teases his return as Batman, while Calle’s Supergirl appears in one quick frame alongside the two Barrys.
Despite how little material was provided, there’s a lot to analyze in The Flash movie trailer. Even though just the actor’s Batsuit cowl is visible, Keaton’s return as Batman is likely the most intriguing part. Still, the picture of Keaton’s Batman in his Batcave reveals that not only will the figure feature in The Flash, but so will the hero’s places — and, presumably, his world. It’s probable that all of the views of Wayne Manor in the film belong to Keaton’s Batman, and the footage’s closing picture teases the revelation of a Batmobile, which will very certainly be Keaton’s as well.
Aside from Batman, The Flash movie teaser indicates that the film will have two Barry Allens, as suggested by unauthorised set images from the project. The second Barry with the longer hair seems to be donning the Batman suit painted in the Flash’s colors that Muschietti hinted during development. It’s unclear where this Barry comes from, although he’s most likely from another multiverse realm, maybe Keaton’s. Affleck’s Batman, who has been confirmed to feature but hasn’t been hyped as much as the other characters, is noticeably missing from The Flash movie teaser. This might imply that his involvement is little, but we’ll have to wait and see. More information will be disclosed when the entire The Flash movie trailer is released, which is expected to happen next year.
